Although the FB2 reader automatically generate a list of contents, I was wondering if an index to specific paragraphs within an e-book would be useful. I've placed an extra body at the end of the book and then used hyperlinks back to tagged paragraphs in the main body.
Example source:
<body>
<section>
<title>
</title>
<p id="ref_1">Interesting text part 1...</p>
<p id="ref_2">Interesting text part 2...</p>
<empty-line/>
<subtitle>The End</subtitle>
</section>
</body>
<body name="Index">
<title>
<p>Index</p>
</title>
<section>
<p><a l:href="#ref_1">Look here - 1st part</a></p>
<p><a l:href="#ref_2">Look here - 2nd</a></p>
</section>
</body>
</FictionBook>
Is this a fair use of the FB2 format, or should it be considered an abuse?
Is there another, more elegant solution to this?
Best regards, Russell |

This is the best you can do for now, yes. FB2 itself does not support any other but structiral indexing, while with hyperlinks you can do the thing. And separating index to another body is a wise design I guess. |

A good example for all russian-speaking users of the format how to use your imagination for making books that could pleasure your eyes. _________________ If things go wrong you don't have to go with them |
